This saddle will rid you of 'Numb Nuts Syndrome' for good.... and improve your cycling performance..... sounds impossible? It's not.... it does, it has and it's British! Oh yes! http://road.cc/content/review/55376-rido-r-lt-saddle
I'll keep you posted, unfortunately not had to ride it yet.
Hi, I used to get the 'numb nuts' syndrome also on long rides until I changed the saddle from a Fizik Arione to a Specialized toupe - now excellent.
To look at the toupe one would think it would be uncomfortable, but in my case it's great (very light too).
I think the 'raised' centre of the Fizik pressed on the undercarriage nerves/arteries, but the cut out of the toupe seems to relieve this 'pressure'. I can also recommend the Selle Italia SLC for the same reason.
Good luck.
Regards
Trikeman.
I've just (today) swapped to an Antares Versus to alleviate this problem. The stock Planet-x saddle was fine on short runs but 30+ miles and it's starts telling. It is also 30mm longer than the saddles (SDG Bel Air) that I run on the MTBs. I wanted a slimmer, road saddle for the road bike and the Fizik saddles were recommended, I opted for the Antares due to sizing - practically the same as the SDG and the cut-out channel to prevent the perineal issues. Only fitted today so can't comment on it, but a good sit on it seems OK. I also had the bike fitted for me by Bike Science when I bought it, which I think has paid dividends. I used a level and tape to get the new saddle in the same place as the old one. Good luck!
Thanks for all the help. I will try and fit myself using the web page above, and if no luck I will have to get a proper fit.
I would like to hear how you get on with the antares versus just incase a fit doesnt solve the problem.
Try this:

Haven't tried it but apparently it works well
This is a can of worms. Charge spoon suits me and many others. However, it sounds like a set up problem to me. Check your measurements.
If you didn't have issues before I would suggest a bike fit. The new bike more than likely has a different geometry. Hopefully your lbs can do this for you.
the new saddle, or the new bike?
if the bike, it's possible your position has changed and that's the issue. if the saddle, you may have it set up slightly differently; you don't need to change the position much to alter the ride. try adjusting it slightly on each ride to see if you can find a better angle/layback
Also google perineum. There are a few saddle companies out there making saddles specifically designed to combat numb nuts syndrome.
My expert advice would be to get some expert advice.
It's important for us 'youf' (Well, you juneor) need to protect spines and legs etc.
Evans lend out saddles for a month.
Get a longer saddle like a San Marco Ischia or the Arione.
Less padding is better.
Maybe try getting a professional fitting of you to your bike. Bike Science has stores around England, Google the name for locations.
I have just started having the same problem I have an Arione which was plenty comfortable but all of a sudden I am getting numbness after about 30 mins or so. I have my eye on a Kurve Bull but have the same apprehension that you do. Let's hope we see some good responses to this thread.
