I watched a 38 min video on Steephill last night. Ouch! and the winner made it look so easy. And he only weighs 53kg.
My lungs and legs were burning just watching this.
'poisonous sting' is well named! It looked really tough.
The last thing you would want is to hit the bottom at 30 mph and then take a wrong turn!
Its like something out of a horror films for cyclist's, I felt pain for them.
This is the "best" video i can find apart from if you pay for Eurosport player, if you ignore the wannabe commentator you can see parts of the climb

1,000m of climbing in 9km. That's gotta hurt
I'd say it would be more likely for inclusion in the Giro if Angelo Zomegnan were in charge, it had become increasingly harder under him but this year's percorso, the first under Michele Acquarone (not himself a cyclist - running's his thing) is much more gentle. Well, comparatively speaking, anyway
Possible mountain time trial, but I'm not sure we'd see it as a summit finish on a road stage.
Stunning wasn't it.
I don't want to spoil anymore for anyone but will comment later.
