Conti 4 seasons =all year round decent tyre
Conti gp4000 = awesome dry weather summer tyre
Vittoria rubino pros = great all rounder and surprisingly good in the wet
Schwalbe Durano S from bike-discount are a winner.
Just bought a pair of 16" tyres for the kids trailer from Halfords - £7 less 10% British Cycling discount. Got a tin of GT85 while I was there and used a £10 voucher from an internet survey. Walked out with more cash than I went in with
ribble have a tyre sale at the mo.
If the model/spec of the tyre is the same, as is the case with the Gatorskin and Schwalbe Durano, then the only difference is bead weight - usually made of kevlar instead of wire. The folding bead version is 40 to 50g lighter. I'd suggest either of these two tyres.
Folding tyres are generally lighter, easier to fit, but less durable than heavier wire beaded tyres that are often designed for endurance and bad weather riding.
Its June, I say go for for it. Then look at winter tyres again for autumn onwards
Don't disregard Vredestein Fortezza TriComp - good all round tyre - or Vittoria Rubinos. My last set of Rubinos did over 4K km's with only one flat.
+1 for Rubino Pros. Very good all round tyre esp if you can get a deal on them.
