surely for that money you should consider a Ti bike?

+1 to what Tinbred said.
Don't judge a book by the cover.
Having indecent thoughts about a Giant Propel...but then there's the new BMC Team Machine, and the Scott Addict will be launched in the not too distant; awesome time to have £4k to spend on a bike
When you are spending that kind of money take your time to test ride as many as possible. A few years ago I wanted a nice bike, I tried a few that I thought would be great but they were just OK. The Trek 6 series was great on paper and was lovely, but when I tried the Specialized S-works I was blown away. At that price most are good bikes, it just comes down to fit and feel and what floats your boat.
