Hello - Help with a new bike

Hi

Just signed up to the forum. Always been a reader of roadcc site though.

I'm currently using a Specialized Allez Triple 2012 Road Bike, But in the market for a new bike and seem to be torn between the below two. any pointers or feedback would be helpful - i seem to be swaying to the first,

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/specialized/tarmac-2013-road-bike-ec... - Seen the review on the site seems quite nice

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/specialized/roubaix-compact-2013-roa... - no review on roadcc so cant compare it

Thanks in advance

Get the tarmac and put your foot on the pedal and fly

A 2012 Allez will have Tarmac-like geometry so if you like that feel then the Tarmac is a great bit of kit.

If you want comfy mile muncher then Roubaix all the way.

The problem i have is i'm getting it through the ride2work scheme where the most you can get is a thousand and has to be evans. So i'm wanting a carbon bike and thats the only choices

Although the tarmac is classed as racier i'm assuming its still fine on the climbs, as i say i'm more pulling towards the tarmac,

Have you considered anything other than a Specialized?

They are both great bikes. The Tarmac is racier, the Roubaix slightly more upright and comfortable but quick nonetheless.

Take them both for a test and see what you think.
