At the risk of this being a humblebrag... is the 'palmares' part of the game still updated? 6/7 years of trying and I finally picked up a win
Kamna and Kuss, what a couple of picks...
Good point, it should be. Might be automatic when we archive the comp.
yeah it happens on archive
Well done! I thought I was in with a chance of that elusive first win but you sailed right over the top of me and left me on the bottom step of the podium! Personally I lay the blame squarely at the feet of Hugh Carthy.............
Yeah, Carthy was a bit of a disappointment in my Purist squad, though picking Buchmann and Martin meant I wasn't quite in the race for that anyway.
Yeah...well done...and yes, great picks. Kuss was the best rider in that entire race. I don't know what the definition is of a super domestique but I do know it looks a lot like Kuss.
It's been a few years since I was doing the fantasy scores, but any rider who has a DNS/DNF didn't get bonus points for a teammate winning. I've just got 5 for Buchmann, but he, Schillinger and Muhlberger all DNF today, so shouldn't be getting bonus points??
Riders who start the stage do get bonus points, that's how I've always done it. No points for DNS of course. A lot of people DNF on stages and in one-day races who've done work for their teams, so they get the bonus points.
At some point I feel a break coming up. Will it be today? Barguil only dropped 2 mins, Alaphilippe just under 5, Benoot a bit over 7... but plenty of other options like Fraile, TdG, Skujins, etc.
Good luck with who and when!
A few suspiciously slow times yesterday by the likes of Soler and TDG....KOM competition is a great way to build fitness...it might be a decent sized break today even for a short stage.
Yes, sorry Doc, the deadline was at 12.00 CET, well after the race started, so I shifted it to 10.30 CET, at least 8hrs before the start. It begs the question, how to let everyone know. (I don't have access to send a general email).
Having been caught out once a long time ago on an important stage, I always check race start time, (bet closing time is a good indicator), and I seem to have become the unofficial race time checker.
Hope no one was inconvenienced. You looked to good teams.
Cheers
I don't think you need to do anything. I chose to leave it late to catch any potential changes...and there will be some this season I'm betting. My risk.
Stage deadlines are always the last thing to be edited and when there's such scrutiny on the start lists and making sure that's all accurate, the deadlines can often go un-corrected. We'll add a special checkbox to our setup area to make sure to remind us in future.
Didn't get the1st stage right. Managed to get 7 scorers (and an abandon in Hirt), but except Bernal they didn't bring in the big points.
Why did I doubt WVA?
Did the deadline move?....I was sure it was down as an 11.00 a.m deadline UK time yesterday... or was I mistaken?
Great stage today. We are in for a treat this week if that's the stage for the punchers with the climbers ...pffft...
For me it's Roglic plus seven others, he could win any or every stage this week. But then so could Alaphillippe. Will be interesting to see how the weather affects riders, hot and sometimes wet forecast.
And now Bonifazio has abandoned ...... so my anorak wearing was totally unnecessary!
It definitely is very exciting - the Dauphiné is always one of my favourite races and this year they have distilled it down to just the most exciting stages ( with apologies to the sprinters & TTers!). The TV pictures come from the TdF team so it always looks beautiful as well. I will however have to don my anorak briefly, in spite of the heatwave, to point out that it is Niccoló Bonifazio riding ( and briefly participating in the break before reality hit him) and not Leonardo who is listed as riding in the game. That said, I would be amazed if anybody picked a Bonifazio of any description for this race! Good luck everyone!
There goes Jan Hirt for me already. Shame, he was bringing in some decent form to this race.
Hi guys, great that cycling is back, and with a load of stars and lots of SFs.
I'm surprised that there isn't more forum chatter, I would have thought this would be the ticket to cure Covid blues. But I suppose you are all out at the beach in England.
It's mid winter in Aussie and tomorrow's temp is expected to be 26 degrees. Nice.
We have escaped the worst here, due to quick border lockdown, but it could break out again anytime.
Hope you are all safe and well,
Cheers
Tony
And to you Tony!
Definitely glad to have cycling back and productivity still working from home has taken a dive. Scotland weather not too bad, great for cycling at the moment.
Hoping the peloton stays well clear of any nonsense with an uptick in cases on mainland Europe so we can get a semi full calendar until the end of the season!
There are no flat stages. Stage 1 is less steep and long than the others. 5 days of one hell of a mountain scrap incoming, delicious.
