With the seasons a changin' the road.cc review squad have received their first helping of lights and autumnal gear, alongside our usual selection of kit and components that we test to the max in all weathers. Here is a brief introduction to products that we'll be reviewing in full over the next few weeks...  

​Overade Plix FIT folding helmet

Overade's foldable helmet first surfaced as a concept in 2010, and now the latest version is being rolled out across all the big bike retailers as well as landing on our desk recently. It divides into three and folds up neatly (21 x 11 x 16cm) so it can be easily stored in a bag, and of course it complies with the European safety standards. The helmet has an adjustable fit system and lockable dividers, 14 vents and adjustable straps with chin protection.

Leyzene Sport Floor Drive

This classy looking floor pump from Lezyne weighs in at 1.4kg and comes in red, black, silver or yellow colours. It's got a steel barrel and piston with a varnished wooden handle, and an extra long, high strength hose with composite matrix couplers. Lezyne say the digital gauge is highly accurate, and it's got a max pressure of 220psi/15 bar so there is no tyre it can't handle. Ia this pump the business, or has it left us feeling deflated? Topeak Ridecase Centre Mount

Another Topeak innovation, this time one that moves your phone or GPS out front with further adapters for a sports camera. Weighing just 36g, It attaches to 31.88mm handlebars and can be rotated for portrait or landscape orientation. You can use a variety of different cameras including all GoPro Heroes, the Sony Action Cam series and Shimano sports cameras. A further adapter allows for compatibility with Garmin GPS devices, but otherwise it's compatible with Topeak computers or Topeak Ridecase phone holders. George Hill is loading the mount up on test rides at the moment to see if it provides optimal gadget storage on-bike...

Xeccon Geinea III Front & Rear Light Set

This affordable set of lights from Xeccon are compact and simple, with the front giving off 15 lumens and the back 10 lumens. You'll get 9 hours of life out of them on the lowest light setting and up to 2.5 hours on full beam. Charging is via USB and you get an integrated strap to wrap them around your bars. Are they cheap and cheerful? Mike Stenning is currently using the Geinea 111's when the sun sets...

Ritchey Classic Zeta wheelset

The Classic Zeta wheels from Ritchey have extra wide rims with a 17mm internal width purported to increase lateral stiffness and improve tyre profile for a smoother ride. They have j-bend spokes for strength that is counteracted by Ritchey's 'phantom flange' design to improve efficiency, and each wheelset is hand built by a Ritchey technician so you can be guaranteed of quality control.
