Right, we’ve waded through the 1220 comments you left about what you like most about autumn cycling which included having to read POEMS (note to self, never, ever, ever ask people to do that again) but the psychic trauma has been worth it. We have a winner… and because the standard of entries was so high a couple of bonus runners up too who will be getting some roadcc socks.
Our Vulpine Schwag Grab podium is filled by the speakers of two universal cycling truths and one rather personal truth.
Almost but not quite for robbiezhaorobbiezhao for masterful use of the sympathy card with “The cold rivals that of the heart of my wife” - until you realise that it’s not really that cold at this time of the year, even in East Anglia. (Maybe we should send her some socks too.)
Socks also for tells-it-like-it-is “I just love wearing tights” from wrevilo but somehow it lacks the poe… magic of our winner the tells it like it even more is:
“Shining torch through the fog/mist whilst making light saber noises. Obviously…” by Mattclimb
Yep, that's autumn!
Our winner and runners up have been informed - those who posted poems about nature’s paintbrush turning the trees the colours of their fave beige Vulpine shorts - your names are on a list. First offence, but don’t push it eh.
Thanks to Vulpine for a fab competition, thanks to all of you who entered, commiserations to the 1219 of you that didn’t win, but there WILL be another schwag grab along soon.
=====================================================================================
The whole caboodle is worth more than £500 (£502 to be precise) and includes Vulpine’s:
Original Rain Jacket
Cotton rain trousers
Long Sleeve Merino T-shirt/base layer
Padded Merino Boxer/Boyshorts
Storm Cap
Dogtooth Merino Silk Socks
We’ll pick the lucky winner next Monday, usual Schwag Grab rules apply.
You can find out more about Vulpine's autmn/winter range at www.vulpine.cc
Good luck!

Dramatic colours, mysterious mists, crisp bright days...followed by a snug warm up drinking tea and eating cake. Whats not to like?
That feeling just after the start of a ride when you're fully warmed up and you can't even feel the cold anymore, just the bike, the road and the scenery.
Colorful views and cool weather doesn't make me sweat like a dog.
When it's cold and lashing down, there is a certain satisfaction knowing that you're out riding and everyone else is tucked up in the warm.
the fact that its not yet winter.
I just love being out on the bike on a sunny, but cold, winters day. My favourite time of year, when it's dry at least!
I get to feel super tough every morning by riding to work through the cold, and it's much easier to find somewhere to lock my bike when I get there.
The fact that I'm not sure what my rides going to be like; any combination and strength of rain, sun and wind but (nearly) always getting back with a smile on my face!
me me me
the time of year when however you dress it's always wrong...
Crisp air and blue skys
Cold air + Warm sun!
cool, crisp, bright Sunny autumn Sunday rides - says it all.
Autumn = Rides to cafes and toasted tea cakes with real butter on, washed down with good strong sweet tea.
Apart from the crisp air and beautiful morning sunlight there is that tingle of hot water on cold legs when you take a post ride shower.
My commute is getting colder and wetter, plus the 'storm cap' would cover my bald patch
The temperature is perfect, and the light is fantastic. Lovely

The anticipation of driving through a huge pile of leaves, kicking out both legs and for a second be 7 years old again! (and hope you’re not hitting a big concrete roadblock hiding underneath)
Being warm on the inside as the fresh air tingles your cheeks on the outside. That and hot coffee stops.
Riding full speed, feet up into puddles of unknown depth and hoping momentum is your friend and potholes aren't your enemy...
mmm... lovely, yes please.
cooler temperatures... a feeling of desperation to make the last months count before it's too cold
Dark mornings and light evenings. That and most of the dry weather cyclists have cleared off.
Morning Dew & Blasting through Falling Leaves
The 'thrill'(!) of wet roads & fallen leaves on a fast descent
Riding alongside the River Severn on my commute and seeing the mist rising above the river surface 'the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness'.
Cycling home in the dark, road lit by street lamps, following mesmerizing tail of blinking rear lights through the crisp air which wakes you up after a day in the office...
my fav thing about this autumn is giving my vulpine jacket a good test in the rain
